Day 2: The Gathering Of The Clan

On the Friday of the Canada Day long weekend, alarms go off at dark-o-thirty in Kelowna and Victoria. Today is the day that the rest of the gang braves multiple ferries and bustling highways to gather at the lake.

I was glad to have a long day alone so as to catch up all of the summer school marking that was backing up during the two days of Alexandre's graduation events. Having my nose to the grindstone all day paid off as I could shut things down at 6 pm in order to welcome the weary travellers.

Gerhard arrives with the Laser.

Tradition says that when the next arrival is seen across the lake, all available campers assemble to wave. Gerhard trains well!

Marianne, Calvin, Tristan and Jordan have arrived.

The Kennedy's have arrived with the three teens and two dogs. Grandpa helps the boys set up their tents.

Bentley is happy to be out of the truck and hanging with Alexandre.

Grandpa enjoys being wrapped up by the first so as not to experience any drafts.
