A Survey of Ballpark Food and Winterizing Your RV Under a Palm Tree

'It's a perfect day for baseball'. Well, everyday is a perfect day for baseball but according to Alex, that is what they say.

Rockstar seats.

Today was the last Spring Training game at the Peoria Stadium so things were extra jacked up. Both the Seattle Mariners and the San Diego Padres call Peoria Stadium 'home' during these spring games.  Thankfully, we selected our tickets weeks before as this was a sold out game. Sitting in the first row of the second section was a delight. No seats in front means lots of leg room. It also provided a perfect place from which to watch people, and their food, as they stroll back and forth on the walkway below.

This is how to survey ballpark food for zero calories!

Hot dogs.

Corn dog slathered in mustard.

Some sort of smothered fries.

The standard chicken strips and fries.

Cotton Candy

Snow cones

Gyros

Noodle bowls and Kettle Corn.

Oh yes, we are here to see baseball, after all.

San Diego tried to come back in the bottom of the ninth but it was too little, too late. Overall, an excellent day at the ballpark.
Alex got to pick dinner out to celebrate not eating ballpark food all week. So, off to P. F. Chang's for us.

Crispy Green Beans

Chicken Lettuce Wraps. Scoop a little bit of meat mix into a lettuce leaf and eat it like a taco.

Surf and Turf. Tender beef, breaded lobster, shrimp, mushrooms, asparagus, rice.

Yum.

Now that baseball is over it is time to prepare for our journey north.  The idea, below, was to back the truck almost up to the hitch so that in the morning we could just ease the truck back and pop the trailer onto the hitch.

Alex backed me up and proclaims it good so I get out. 'Well, Mama, it is kinda close'. You can't really tell but the ball is about 3 inches to the right of the hitch. 'Can't you just shove it over?' No, those tent trailer days are gone, Alex. :).

Since it will be well below freezing in Bryce Canyon National Park I get to winterize the trailer under a palm tree in Phoenix. This is very, very wrong.

We're good to -50 degrees Celcius.
good.to.know
Feels like -17!!! I actually looked at reservations in San Diego's San Elijo State Park on the beach. If we could have had a good spot for 3 nights there. . . well, let's just say a plot twist would have been a VERY real possibility. It was full up. Bryce Canyon - here we come.
