Day 6: The Lady Jayne

Today the Lady Jayne is lovingly eased from her winter bed to go to her summer ocean home.

First the mast is hoisted down from the rafters and nestled on top of the boat using cushions from the older Lionel tent trailer.

We thought that perhaps the door could have been just a little wider? There is 1 inch to spare on either side. Cozy.

Off she goes to Irving's Landing.

Gerhard secures the back stays.

Before high tide we gather for our annual Hotel Lake Come As You Are Family and Friends photo. We are a small group this year.

Good to know the SAR team is having an exercise nearby just in case.

And, the Lady Jayne is afloat!

Off she goes.

  1. Hi!

I am wondering if this is the boat from Port Townsend, Washington...last (?) Owner, Ralph Theodore Schuder?

    I am 'the' namesake.

    1. The Lady Jayne was built in Pender Harbour, BC by Nick LOENEN who still sails her today. It has been in the wooden boat festival in Port Townsend one time a number of years ago.
