Day 7: Off Duty in Cannon Beach

The forecast was looking bleak so it took us until noon to get our act together all at the same time. The only conclusion on a gloomy day was that we need to go back to Cannon Beach and have fish and chips at Mo's.

Mischief managed.

Today is our last full day on the Oregon coast. Time to head north 'cause the rains are a-coming.

Mo's Restaurant - hot chowder, great views.

Life is swell at Mo's as we gaze upon Haystack Rock in the distance.

Fish Tacos. Nothing fancy but tasty none-the-less.

Fish and chips, chips and fish. A full-body grease job. I'm good for a year now.

After lunch we scrapped the beach walk as the rains were coming down. We drove to the north end of Cannon Beach to check out a few places we had missed earlier.
The Chocolate Cafe. Oh, this could be a problem.

The flowers are still looking fine.

A late blooming clematis.

We can say with confidence that we have not left any store unseen in Cannon Beach. With no trailer in tow we were able to stop at a few pull outs. A favourite being Hug Point. This parking lot is NOT suitable for vehicles that are towing unless you wish to perfect your three-point turn with a trailer. This was a fabulous little beach access with a few caves and fun points to run around as the tidal waves slithered up to the foot of the head lands.

Gilligan?

Ah, what is a beach walk without a selfie?

Some interesting history about the roadway and pull out in the next picture.

High up above Manzinita looking south towards Nehalem Bay State Park.
It is not seen in this picture; however, we could see Cape Meares and Cape Lookout far away in the distance.

Tomorrow the Gypsy Wagon heads north - Richmond bound.
