Day 5 Precarious Perches and Dinner at The Painted Boat

Sunday in Pender Harbour.

A slow coffee morning followed was followed by the morning service at Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church. What a delight to see long time friends of Mom and Dad's from the Lower Mainland up on the Sunshine Coast and at the service, too.

Come for lunch!  This proved to be a treasured visit as they reflected on the passing of their mutual long time friend just days earlier.

After a lazy afternoon we went to the Lady Jayne to pump out the bilge as it has a mysterious and secretive little leak somewhere. Then it was off to Madeira Park to have dinner at The Painted Boat.

Why did I feel that backing up that extra 5 feet was a good idea again?  Instead of resting in the dip of the driveway, I am on a slight hill which is putting far too much force on my, now very high, trailer hitch post.  So unnecessary. Hitching and unhitching when on a slope that forces your trailer towards the truck is never a really great idea.

Dutch camping with a view.

Lee Bay at the mouth of Pender Harbour, looking south with Vancouver Island in the far distance.

Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church, Pender Harbour.

Dad built this cross for the memorial garden behind the church some time ago. It is much more lovely in person.

Nearly one year after winning a gift certificate to the posh Painted Boat, Mom and Dad and I savoured our dinners as the evening sun set over Francis Peninsula.
