Day 10: Orca and Humpbacks with a side of Devonshire Cream Please

We were down at the dock by 8 am to catch our whale watching tour with Sea Smoke Whale Watching out of Alert Bay.  August can be foggy but we had calm seas and clear skies.

There were an abundance of Dall's porpoises, Orca, Humpback and Sea Lions to be seen. Click here to read the blog post and see pictures of our actual tour today posted by Sea Smoke. They beat me to it!

After chilling back at the campsite for a while we toured the U'Mista Cultural Centre and drove around the island.  The boys played baseball and soccer in the late evening sun.  The wind is picking up and there is a bit of a chill in the air.  The trailer will be cozy tonight!

Hot chocolate first thing in the morning.

Dominic found a cozy spot.

Snaking our way through the lush kelp beds.

After our tour we stopped by the RCMP Detachment to visit Anne J. while the boys reminisced in the cells.

My whale pictures will have to wait until we are home again.  This old Canon and my new Mac are not a good match.
